News From DaVallia Arts: New Pottery, Cool Belts, Party July 7th
Summer is here in VT! The grill is going, beers are cold and it's back to work on my concrete addiction. Making concrete isn't the cleanest thing, sooo... outside my workshop goes. Jessie's been manning the gallery so I can be creative and make new furniture for the shop. We're designing some new home accents for late summer, too. CERAMIC ARTIST - TODD WAHLSTROM NEW WORK ARRIVING JULY 1ST
A Perfect Fit! We are very pleased to announce the arrival of our newest artist, Todd Wahlstrom. We have been a fan of his pottery since we've been in VT. He is one of the best ceramic artists in the country and has agreed to join our family of artists. His rich earth tone glazes are blended with his skilled hands to make functional pieces which are beautifully refined. His work has had national press and is in several revered collections throughout the world. I must warn our customers! "Preserverance" Completed!
We did it! We re-assembled over 15 HUNDRED pieces of 200-year-old roofing slate which is dry laid in this 4-foot diameter wagon wheel. The sculpture will be on display all summer at the VT State Welcome Center. "Preserverance" is titled as a hybrid of preservation and perseverance. Now that it is complete, it's even more stunning than I had imagined. If you're driving to VT on I-91 Northbound from Mass., stop in and see it. Based on the response already, I don't think it'll be there for long before it finds a permanent home. - Michael Alon
