You Are Invited To The 80th August Supper On The Lawn at St. Luke's
Looking back at our 150-year history at St. Luke's Episcopal Church on Main Street in Chester, for nearly eighty years we had no parish hall, no kitchen and sometimes dinners and even church services were held in Wiley Hall, the second floor of what was the Carpenter's Emporium, a gift from Susan Wiley, a Fullerton daughter. The first August Supper was in 1938, so it could have been held in this building. In 1948, Pearl Willard bequested the undercroft, so then it might have been on the lawn.
Rain or shine, the 80th August Supper on the Lawn this year will be on the back lawn with tents, three meats, abundant salads and delicious desserts galore. The date is Saturday, August 4 with continuous eating as usual. If you wish to reserve a seat or table for 5, 6:15 or 7 p.m. please call 875-4031 to do so. The cost is $15 for adults and $7.50 for children. Save the date. Hope to see you.
