Next Chester Conservation Committee Meeting Tuesday, April 5

posted Friday, April 1, 2016

Please join us for our next Chester Conservation Committee meeting, Tuesday, April 5, 7:00 pm at Chester-Andover Elementary School.

Elise Schadler, UVM Extension Community Outreach representative for the Vermont Urban and Community Forestry Program will be joining us. She will give us an overview of the program and tell us how a Community Tree Program can benefit the town of Chester. A Community Tree Program can include any or all of the following components: an updated public tree inventory, a management plan or action plan for its public trees, a budget for tree care (not just removals), a tree ordinance or policy, a tree board or committee, and trained municipal staff or an engaged Tree Warden.

Please note: Elise will have a Labrador retriever service dog with her in the room.

Following the discussion with Elise, we will briefly report on Green Mountain Camp Scholarships, the status of planning to install a footbridge to access the Brookside walking trail, breaking news regarding a disc golf course at the Pinnacle Recreation Area, and other topics as needed.

All are welcome!
Mary Beth Adler
