The Connecticut River Watershed - Looking to the Future

posted Thursday, October 29, 2015

We all live in a watershed where our economy, environment, and society depend on its health. Two million people live in The Connecticut River Watershed encompassing 11,000 square miles in five states plus the province of Quebec.

Ron Rhodes, CT River Watershed Steward, will present a wide ranging presentation about the importance of the CT watershed. Topics include preparing for floods, reconnecting habitat for fish, keeping sewage out of the river, the iconic CT River Paddlers trail, and major challenges facing the river.

Mr. Rhodes will also discuss how the Connecticut River Watershed Council has been working on the restoration of the chemical, physical, and biological integrity of our river.

The presentation will take place on November 17, 2015 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the First Universalist Parish, 211 North Street (Route 103 North) Chester, VT. The presentation is open to the public, free, and sponsored by the Chester Conservation Committee.
