Owls of Vermont: An Earth Day Celebration Presented by The Nature Museum
Share a fascinating morning of interactive learning and live owls with your family! The Nature Museum at Grafton, in partnership with the Southern Vermont Natural History Museum, is proud to present "Owls of Vermont". This program focuses on owls' amazing nocturnal adventures. We'll explore the many owl species that live in Vermont and examine the adaptations that make these raptors the supreme hunters of the night. Owl expert Mike Clough of The Southern Vermont Natural History Museum will bring live owls, touchable artifacts, and interactive demonstrations to make this an unforgettable experience.
This engaging presentation will be held at Phelps Barn at the Grafton Inn in Grafton, Vermont on Saturday, April 25th at 10:30 AM. This family program is presented alongside The Nature Museum's week of Earth Day camps during local schools' April vacation breaks. The Nature Museum is dedicated to supporting the innate sense of wonder in children, and kids get in for free at this amazing owl event! After the live owl program with Mike Clough, take a short walk down the road to The Nature Museum. Enjoy Earth Day cake, and conclude your family's morning with an exploration of this fantastic, family-friendly natural history resource.
This event is appropriate for owl lovers of all ages. Kids 18 and under are admitted for free. Adults can pre-register online at www.nature-museum.org for $8/person. Adults will be admitted at the door for $10/person and children must be accompanied by an adult. This is a very popular program; space is not guaranteed and participants are strongly encouraged to buy tickets online in advance and to arrive early to the event. Born in Windsor, VT, Michael Clough has spent his entire life enjoying and exploring the wild places of New England. Since receiving his B.S. in Environmental Science with a concentration in Biology from Long Island University's Southampton College, Mike has worked with some of the Northeast's premiere conservation and environmental education groups to create live animal experiences for the public. His many programs have included a wide range of animals including birds of prey, wolves, frogs, pythons, and more. Mike leads adult, family, and youth nature workshops in many towns in southern Vermont through his work with the Four Winds Nature Institute. Mike also works as the Assistant Director of Southern Vermont Natural History Museum.
The Nature Museum at Grafton is a regional resource for nature, science, and environmental education in the Vermont and New Hampshire communities of the Connecticut River Valley.
