A Gelatin Monoprint Process
Sunday, July 14th 11am-2pm

In this special two-day introductory course, led by Frances Holliday Alford, both quilting and fabric artists and the non-experienced will enjoy creating one of a kind fabrics. Through the gelatin monoprint process, the paint adheres to the fabric, making an interesting and unique image that cannot be achieved by a direct paint method. This process is very forgiving, very flexible, and very spontaneous. Each student brings a different color, a shift in shape, & variation in stitching to create a one of a kind piece.

After a career in education, Frances became a full time multi-media fiber artist. She is best known for large textile quilted constructions but she also works in collage and installation art. Frances works at Embellishments Studio in Grafton, VT. Tuition $65; Supplies Cost $10.
