VTica May Event Schedule
VTica will be closed for the month of April for mud season. In May, we will host The Mysterious Mind, a Private Screening of Film "And After All," Vermont Young Playwrights Aloud! and Projections: Reel To Real Conversation.
May Schedule of Events
The Mysterious Mind
Through June 23rd
The Mysterious Mind is an exhibit of visual art and sculpture that speaks directly to the sub-conscious soul through the insights of Jungian depth psychology. Four extraordinary New England artists exhibit archetypal images whose meanings may be understood mostly by our intuitive and instinctual selves. We learn to understand the meanings of these provocative visual symbols that are put before us. Come join us at VTica to discover a new way of seeing for yourself in visual symbols. On exhibit through June 23rd.
Private Screening of Film And After All
Saturday, May 11th 8pm
A native of Chester, VT, now New York-based photographer, filmmaker, and writer Julian Ungano gives a private screening of his film And After All, much of which is set and filmed in Chester. The film, which is an official selection in this year's Charleston International Film Festival, follows Charlotte, a hip downtown New York artist, as she is forced to revisit her small town roots as she deals with the sudden death of her mother.
Vermont Young Playwrights Aloud!
Wednesday, May 15th 7-9pm
Weston Playhouse Theatre Company presents an evening of readings of original one-act plays, written by students, directed by professionals, read by trained actors. Three plays will be delivered after being rehearsed by experienced actors under professional direction. Three additional plays will be read unrehearsed by the same group of actors. Each play will be followed by a brief discussion with the playwright. Participating students are from Arlington High School, Black River Middle School, and Rutland High School. The 2013 program has been led by teaching artist John Hadden and supported by the Bay & Paul Foundation and the Creative Connections Fund at the Vermont Community Foundation.

Polis Is This: Charles Olson and the Persistence of Place will be viewed, followed by a stimulating discussion with conversationalist Jon Bliss.
